Client

Hachette Livre is part of the Lagardere Group. They employ 7,500 people worldwide and rank 9th in the world among the major publishing conglomerates with 2.1 billion Euros in annual sales.

Challenge

As part of the reorganisation of its workspaces, Hachette Livre moved half of its management services to a 10,000m2 building with HQE, BBC Effinergie certification (similar to LEED) in Malakoff, near Paris.

The main challenge of the project was the storage solution. To meet the customer’s requirements, we created 270 special bookcases, with washed oak finish. In addition, each workstation has its own sliding door storage unit, which is also used as a return desktop. The third level screens offer four rails for storage accessories. We also furnished three meeting rooms with 18-seat Audience tables and 20 others with chrome legged Epure tables. These feature special outlets that permit direct access to the cable trays from either side.

The second phase of the project will involve moving a further 300 employees.

Scope

Within the 10,000m2 building, Haworth installed 380 workstations using special solutions based on the Epure desk system. Epure meeting tables and Audience conference tables were used for conference rooms and the storage solution was a mix of 270 special shelving units and 1,000 metal filing units.
