Octapharma Produktionsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH is the German subsidiary of the Octapharma Group, and is based in Springe, a little south of Hannover. Octapharma AG was founded in Switzerland in 1983 and has grown into a global company. They now have operations in 6 countries, with sales in more than 80 and more than 4,000 employees.
Octapharma’s core business is the development, production and sale of safe and effective medicines derived from human proteins, including human plasma.
Challenge
Octapharma’s new building aimed to group various company functions including research, production, distribution and administration in a single location. The architecture was conceived to motivate employees through improved working conditions by providing a light filled, modern space.
The office space incorporated both individual and open plan spaces. Separate meeting rooms were created on each floor to provide a space for quick chats or official conferences.
Haworth was responsible for furnishing Octapharma’s office to support the needs of both individual work and teamwork. The Hexagon desk system offered a timeless, modern and functional solution.
Adaptable screens provide a level of privacy that enables employees to concentrate while also providing storage space. A variety of cabinet designs create further storage space which can be complemented with containers on castors.
