In 1948 G.W. Haworth started to produce his first wood display and in 1976 the first prewired panel was introduced. At this time the second generation of the Haworth family, Dick Haworth, the current Chairman, had already joined the company. His ambition and knowledge led to many patents. The company grew continuously, always keeping its core values in mind. In 1987 Haworth started its expansion within Europe with the first sales office in London and in 1988 with the acquisition of Comforto as a well known seating specialist world-wide.

The highlight of Haworth's 60th year was the opening of the award winning HQ in Holland, Michigan, USA. With it Haworth created a symbol for its future.

Today nearly 8,000 members are working for Haworth clients world-wide across all continents with 1,900 in Europe alone.
