Zody_System 89

Zody System 89...form follows science

Design starts with a vision, science with a question. Haworth's vision was a mid-priced task chair ergonomically superior to anything on the market. The critical question - especially when it comes to chair design - was: "How do users define comfort?" and "Is there anything about seating that we do not know yet? " The Human Performance Institute of Western Michigan University (WMU) was entrusted with the research. The German ITO Design and the Haworth development and engineering team have realised the scientific findings and have created Zody_System 89.

The model of your dreams.

Zody_System 89 contents itself with only a few model versions since we prefer to offer the user an equipment which is complete from an ergonomic point of view. You may certainly do without the armrests if this is called for by your activity, as well as without the seat depth adjustment if the user is not higher than average. You may basically choose between a mesh back and an upholstered version.

Zody_System 89 - Asymmetric lumbar support sets new ergonomic standards.

The central findings of the scientific research conducted by the Human Performance Institute of Western Michigan University (WMU) were the conclusion that there is an asymmetry in the lumbar region of each human being due to work habits and the development processes of the human body and that an asymmetric support will have a beneficial effect on the user of the chair. As a result, our designers and engineers have developed the PALTMBack System (lumbar & pelvic support). By a simple rotation forward, the lumbar region will get individual support of the lower back which can be adjusted asymmetrically if requested by the user. Furthermore, the passive pelvic support raises the pelvis, thus optimising the user's body posture.

1. Lumbar adjustment. Flexible concentric rings adapt to each form of the back and support the lumbar region.
2. Asymmetric lumbar support. By turning the levers, the counterpressure can be adjusted independently for right or left-hand side of user's body.
3. Pelvic support. Supports and helps rotate the pelvis forward to maintain the natural spine shape of an ideal S-curve.
4. Ergonomic seat - optimally shaped seat surface, available with seat depth adjustment upon request. The Technogel® Soft Lite Gel upholstery (optional) ensures a point elastic relief of the pressure.
5. 4D armrests can be adjusted in height, the arm caps from front-to-back, from side-to-side as well as the pivoting angle.
